Got myself a weird and wacky birthday present for myself this year.. a DNA report showing my Genetic Ancestry. Like most Aussies our ancestry has been filtered out over generations and most of us arn't that sure where our family comes from. My Nan told me I had a great great grandfather who came from Szczecin Poland which matches up with the results being the highest score for closest genetic relatives today (Northwest Poland) and also the highest score for deep ancestral origins (Northwest Poland), which probably indicates my ancestry was in the region for hundreds of years before my great great grandfather migrated. My siblings and I have also suspected that we had some Aboriginal (hidden) somewhere in our family for several reasons, the main one being some of my Dad's side of the family in Gloucester look Aboriginal.
