Genetic Ancestry

Got myself a weird and wacky birthday present for myself this year.. a DNA report showing my Genetic Ancestry. Like most Aussies our ancestry has been filtered out over generations and most of us arn't that sure where our family comes from. My Nan told me I had a great great grandfather who came from Szczecin Poland which matches up with the results being the highest score for closest genetic relatives today (Northwest Poland) and also the highest score for deep ancestral origins (Northwest Poland), which probably indicates my ancestry was in the region for hundreds of years before my great great grandfather migrated. My siblings and I have also suspected that we had some Aboriginal (hidden) somewhere in our family for several reasons, the main one being some of my Dad's side of the family in Gloucester look Aboriginal. I was hoping the test would give a more conclusive answer to this question, it does show we are in the 70's% match to European-Aboriginal (mixed) in

Narcissism and Facebook

In Self-presentation 2.0: Narcissism and self-esteem on Facebook , Mehdizadeh (2010) looks at the social problem of narcissism and how offline narcissism correlates to Facebook activity in the online world. Narcissism includes ‘grandiosity, need for admiration … an exaggerated sense of self-importance … and positive self-views of agentic traits, including intelligence, physical attractiveness, and power’ (Mehdizah 2010, p.358). Narcissists don’t look for warmth or personal intimacy but seek relationships to appear popular and successful, they also seek attractive, high status individuals as romantic partners.
